BING GIRLING
Bing moved to Balboa Island with his family in 1979 after a distinguished career as a pilot in the United States Air Force. “I became a Realtor because I wanted a second career that would allow me to become part of my community while still afford me the time to be with my family,” states Bing. His personal experiences with numerous family relocations while in the military provide him with an understanding of the issues and concerns that face people when buying or selling a home.

Bing has been a successful Realtor focusing on Balboa Island for over 25 years. He was President of the Newport Beach Association of Realtors for the year 2001 following in his own father’s footsteps who was President of his local real estate association in Sharon, Connecticut. Bing was the chairman of both the Government and Political Affairs Committee and the Aviation Task Force. In addition, he has represented the association at the local, state and federal levels of government on political issues affecting the real estate industry. He was named Realtor of the Year of the Association in 1996.

Bing has also fulfilled his desire to take an active part in community affairs. He was a board member for the Orange County Airport Alliance, The Airport Working Group and the Newport Beach Citizens Aviation Committee during the conversion of El Toro Marine Corps Air Station to civilian control. Bing is a member of Speak Up Newport, a group of non-partisan residents who promote the general welfare of the community. He is a past president and a current member of the board of directors of the Balboa Island homeowners association and was chosen Balboa Island’s Volunteer of the Year in 1997.

Bing and Vickie, his wife of 51 years, have a son Dave, a daughter Doe, and four grandchildren. He is an avid softball player and participates in two different leagues throughout the local area.
 

DAVE GIRLING
Dave Girling brings over 20 years of financial services industry knowledge and experience to his current role as a Realtor in Newport Beach. Dave’s interest in architecture as a student at USC coupled with his experience as a real estate investor prepared Dave for his current role with Girling REIG. Dave is teamed with his father Bing who has been selling real estate on Balboa Island for over 25 years. In addition to his real estate investment experience, Dave has held a variety of senior executive positions in a wide array of disciplines ranging from the mortgage origination to the Capital Markets.

Most recently, Dave was the President and CEO of ComplianceEase Solutions, a leading provider of compliance and risk management solutions for the financial services industry. ComplianceEase developed software that enabled mortgage originators to ensure that their loans were in compliance with RESPA, HOEPA and the anti-predatory lending laws. At ComplianceEase, Dave was responsible for building an effective sales organization and for creating a brand that was widely recognized as a market leader.

Dave has also held executive positions at First Boston (now Credit Suisse), Shearson Lehman Mortgage and GE Capital. Later on in his career he succumbed to his entrepreneurial ambitions and worked with a number of start-ups including Ellie Mae, Sigma Designs and DWG Solutions. Dave was also a Vice President with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Emerging Company Practice, where he consulted with start-up and venture capital firms in San Francisco. Recently, Dave worked for First Republic Bank in its Private Banking and Wealth Advisory Group where he acquired a working knowledge for loan origination and wealth advisory. Dave's background in the mortgage industry gives him a unique understanding for the mortgage origination process and the role played by the Capital Markets.

Currently, Dave is on the Government and Political Affairs Committee for the Newport Beach Association of Realtors and aspires to someday follow in his father’s footsteps as President of the Newport Beach Association of Realtors.

Dave holds an MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.
